The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) has granted a conditional license to PROMESA, Inc. to immediately start dispensing methadone at the Hispanics United of Buffalo (HUB) building at 254 Virginia Street in Buffalo.
The license was issued in part because of Hispanics United of Buffalo's efforts to hold "60 public meetings" within the community to educate us on the clinic opening.
Since we as residents were not informed of these alleged meetings and believe they were falsified to win the licence, we want to demonstrate our opposition via a picket and protest.
Tell Hispanics United of Buffalo (HUB) that we do not want a methadone clinic in our residential neighborhood. HUB has failed to solicit or respect the views of their neighbors. We will not let our community be harmed by the actions of HUB, PROMESA, Inc. or ACACIA Network.
RALLY AGAINST METHADONE CLINIC IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD
This event is designed to protest peacefully and civilly.
